MakeUp in Paris 2013: 12 conferences focusing on topical issues

On 20 and 21 June this year, visitors of MakeUp in Paris 2013 will be able to attend twelve high-level conferences in the presence of the most prominent figures of the global and European make-up industry. The conference room which can accommodate more than 100 people will be operational from morning to night. Conferences but also round-tables will enliven these two days of non-stop information. From the production of formulas including packaging and the distribution of products, the offer will be particularly broad and rich.

To note, this year, a special focus on one of the countries the most advanced in the world in terms of make-up, Korea.

10:15 am to 11:00 am – Make-up and skincare

This conference will propose to analyse the importance of links between skincare and make-up and their consequences on product designing (innovation, formulation, application, packaging) and the marketing in connection with them. Make-up products increasingly combine a skincare dimension , be it hydration, an anti-aging treatment or a UV protection.

Similarly, face care treatments are increasingly offered in different shades.

Today, make-up users frequently use blogs to express themselves on their purchases and evaluations of products. The criteria of appreciation that appears first when reading their blog is the one of smell.

This conference will therefore aim to measure this impact and how it is taken into consideration by perfumers, manufacturers of make-up products and brands in their marketing strategy.

In order to project oneself in tomorrow’s beauty, it is important to look back on its history, understand how trends appear today and what are the main inspirations driving them.

A reflection to help better project oneself in the future and get a better grasp the unavoidable colours and themes of beauty in 2014, and the prospects of a more distant future.

1:30 pm to 2:15 pm – Foundation, a concentrate of innovations

Among “flagship” make-up products, foundation appears to be the one where many innovations can be found both in terms of texture, formulations, variations of shades but also application systems.
