MakeUp in NewYork 2015: “very busy!”

This is what emerges first from the feedback of participants. “A busy and qualitative show.” And figures are there to prove it with an increase in visitors (+ 15%)…., an increase in the number of exhibitors (+ 20%) and a sharp increase in US visitors (+ 25%).

On September 9, Big Apple was in full effervescence, like in one of these beautiful but too hot summer days! And the show venue was no exception with an unexpectedly disappointing air conditioning system. Meanwhile, the number of visitors to the show was no disappointment, quite the contrary: 2,500 people congregated, last week, at the corner of 7th Avenue, between 32nd and 33rd Street. The 110 exhibitors to MakeUp in New York, were able to see for themselves that once again this show was a much awaited event by top brands in the US make-up industry, an event that has never stopped carving a name for itself in the world of global business events dedicated to this “Beauty” industry.

America in leading position!

Because, on this point, MakeUp in New York lived up to its reputation as a unique meeting place between brand owners at the highest level, their Marketing, R&D and Purchase teams. An “American” event and we can even say, “more and more American” since the proportion of US visitors jumped by 25% from one year to another. Which makes sense since the dynamics of American brands has been a fact for many months now. Dynamics in terms of product launches, dynamics also in terms of emergence of start ups specialized in make-up and where the West Coast is continuing to assert its leadership. As for “foreign visitors”, Canada comes first followed by France, South Korea, Japan and…., Brazil. As usual, conferences were also extremely successful. It true that topics were not lacking…: “Supply Chain: New Business opportunities”…, “Branding, the path to global reach”…, “The digital revolution and its impact on the beauty industry”…, “The influence of South Korea in the global make-up industry”… More than 650 people attended them during these two days.
A big thanks to exhibitors of course, but also to all the conferences speakers. A big thanks to the entire team and to members of the CEW…, a big thanks to the Mintel Company…, a big thanks to the many players who took part to the different, almost nonstop animations, including Mrs. Shin-Rei, Supervisor of the famous “Shinka” Calligraphy Studio in Kansai…., Eve Pearl…, the Polychromatic company and its Nail Bar. Not forgetting the Beauty Bar set up by the Albéa Group, the “Art of Beauty” exhibition and the Packaging Innovation Contest with six universities and colleges who entered the contest, representing a total of 18 teams.

And a big thanks, in general, to all the stakeholders of an ever more dynamic and innovative industry that gives full meaning to the winning series of “MakeUp Ins”… in the world. The thirteen previous editions that took place since 2010 in Paris, New York, Seoul and Sao Paulo have proved it. See you in 2016 in a new venue.
