With an increase of nearly 20% more exhibitors over last year, MakeUp in NewYork will once again prove to be, one of the major events in the beauty industry across the Atlantic. Exhibitors have remained faithful to this industry appointment and many of them have increased their exhibition space. Among the newcomers, to note the presence of BASF, Classic Cosmetics, Columbia Cosmetics, Compax, Confalioneri Matite, Cosmax, CTK Cosmetics, Easypowder, FS Korea, Jeong Hun Co., Joko, Jovi, Kolmar, SIMP, Sussex, Verla, Yonwoo.

This 4th edition of MakeUp in NewYork clearly comes at a time of strong recovery in the United States. There is unanimity on the supplier’s side. The end of 2013 was excellent and prospects for 2014 appear very good for the industry. The latest statistics prove it. According to the figures provided by The NPD Group, the industry in the Prestige Beauty segment has seen its sales increase by 5% in value in 2013 over 2012 and those of make-up have even increased by 7%.

New York: The first professional beauty appointment

“Once again it’s going to be very difficult for us to meet all demands,” says Sandra Maguarian, Show Manager, “and I apologize to those who will not have the opportunity to have a stand this year, but, what is important to Jean-Yves Bourgeois and myself is to preserve what makes the soul and strength of this event, its conviviality and the professional relevance and foresight of its exhibitors.”

A relevance, which will express itself once again throughout these two days of 23 September and 24 September with the holding of nearly a dozen conferences and round tables, not to mention the numerous activities that will enliven this two–day event. Among the highlights, a focus on California and its potential for development, the impact and influence of new technologies and social media on the strategic choices of brands, ingredients at the heart of make-up innovation…
