Cosmetics are one of the popular souvenirs among travellers, especially in Asia. So much so that, when I was living in Japan many years ago, they had curated catalogues of which products to buy when visiting French pharmacies, with pictures, names and prices. At the time, it was really about bringing home something that was not available in the country. Now that you can get anything online you would think that the appeal for cosmetics as travel tokens would decrease, but that was before skintellectuals and content-sharing lovers took over social media.
